Have a Case or Ingersoll garden tractor?
Not as fast in forward?
Jumpy Tractor when taking off forward?
Are your wife and kids scared to drive it?
I am the Hemlock Case Guy.
Hundreds of Case/Ingersoll owners are happy with their tractors again. The original linkage is in the front of the photo, and my beefy version is in the pile behind it.
I buy the parts in lots of 100. And recently I got a special deal for 300 of one part. I get a good discount that lowers the price you have to pay. I do customize the parts. Installing them is both a challenge and an opportunity to tweak things. I do that for the ones I sell and the ones I install. The price is hard to beat if you buy just each part yourself.
I am trusted and followed. I was not happy with the wear in the stock linkage. I had to find a better way. It took me days to find the parts. It took me months to find them in bulk at a lower price. It then took me several installs to make modifications to make the installation easier. Each part was chosen because it made the installation easier. Right down to some of the nuts I use that were regular nuts and are now special nuts.
This linkage will fit 220, 222, 224, 444, show contact info
, 3014, 3016, 3020, and 4014, 4016, 4018, and 4020 tractors.
It does not fit the 600 series or loader tractors. Replace all the parts new from a Case and Ingersoll parts dealer, and you should be back to proper operation again on those. Barneveld Implements in Wisconsin is a stocking dealer for OEM parts. Your goal is not to be able to push the foot pedal to the floor or footrest. When you get to that point, you have it right.
My kit replaces items 5-10 in the speed control parts diagram that can be found using Google. Craigslist does not allow web links in a sale ad. This linkage is not compatible with the very early tractors as in the 100's models. Check to see if your parts match the diagram parts. The parts diagram can be found online when you search for parts dealers, which I am not. Just my improved parts.
$50 is for local pick-up. Search Case Ingersoll End Jumpy Tractor or Hemlock Case Guy as a seller on eBay for the shipped item at $58, plus shipping.
I have posted videos on YouTube to help you understand the installation: Hemlock Case Guy or Case Ingersoll Garden Tractor End Jumpy Tractor.
The control rod gets worn, which makes the hole in the control lever bigger at the same time. You can replace the control rod, C18742, but you still have the worn-out hole in the control lever problem. All the replacement parts shipped from a dealer would cost almost $50 and would not fix the control rod slop or have an extremely strong Heim joint replacing a tiny ball-end joint. My linkage does. For the same or less money.
It is not an easy place to get into. The 3-digit tractor has the front PTO lever in the way of the travel control lever for changing the control lever bushing/washer. This washer wear is half the problem. I usually do this when I have the engine or hydraulic tank with the pump attached out of the tractor. To remove the tank and pump, the easy hose to get to is the one at the valve. The 3-digit tractors have enough hose to let it hang and the 4-digit needs another hose removed. It is very easy to do at that point. The pump-to-engine connection is made through a pump adapter. You ALWAYS only remove the bolts that bolt to the engine or flywheel on your 4-digit tractor version. Never, ever take the pump out of the pump adapter.
There are so many reasons you need to tear your tractor apart to fix decades of use and age that I do this to EVERY tractor I work on. I call it a gut and fix. It is not as hard as it would seem. The hardest part is only the Onan's and it is getting the back 2 engine mount bolts off because they are lock nuts, and it takes a long time to use a wrench and only a little room to turn the nut.
I am not selling a service in this listing. I am just answering the questions I often get.
I am not a new or used parts dealer. I am a parts buyer. I pay the sales tax and shipping for the parts I need.
I do not have the fabled attachment, unlisted, waiting for you to ask if I have one for sale.
I am good at fixing things in general. I honed that ability to fix Case Ingersoll garden tractors along with their engines only because I own one or two myself. Onan and the old Kohler engines are truly the best of the best. When you know what you are doing, you get very predictable results when repairing them.
I am always behind and always have a tractor to work on. I just vary how many are in line to be fixed. I do not do price or time quotes. I am skilled, fair, and honest, but slow, not slow, in my work. Just slow to get going for too many days. Long story on why.
